Project: Revamping Reporting with Advanced SQL and Tableau
Leveraging advanced SQL and Tableau to deliver actionable insights and secure client satisfaction.
Client: Influencer Marketing Software Company, ASPIRE
Challenge
ASPIRE lacked the necessary day-to-day reporting insights in its main reporting panel, risking the satisfaction and retention of its top client.
Solution
I was brought on as a contractor to build quick, effective dashboards for their clients, aiming to secure agreement renewals.
Leveraging PostgreSQL databases and Tableau, I developed advanced queries and intuitive dashboards that successfully led to the client's agreement renewal.
Key Features:
Date Shortcuts: Allows for quick selection of time sequences such as last 7 days, last month, this month, etc.
Chart Breakdown: Dynamically changes the axis in all the charts between daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly to provide the best visualization experience regardless of the time frame selected.
Custom Filter Navigation: Enables slicing and dicing of data to find precise answers. Options include functionality such as 'activation type' (distinguishing between "new activation" vs "re-activation" of influencer creators) and filtering by campaigns (e.g., Evergreen, Holidays).
Technical Details:
Tools Used: PostgreSQL, Redash, Tableau
Responsibilities: Data modeling using SQL, data pipeline auditing, data visualization, dashboard creation
Impact:
Client Renewal: The enhanced reporting capabilities directly contributed to the client's decision to renew their agreement.
Internal Recognition: My work impressed ASPIRE’s engineering team, leading to my integration into their team to audit data for new pipelines in BigQuery and take on data visualization responsibilities.
